Adaptation of Water Management to Climate Change: Challenges, Opportunities and Goals

In the future, an increase in anthropogenically induced climatic changes is to be expected. This will cause great challenges for water resources management especially with regard to floods and heavy rainfall events, but also droughts and increasing low water events as well as sinking groundwater levels. These are challenges that we already have to deal with. The question arises which effects of climate change we have to face and how we have to adapt and expand our water management infrastructures in a resilient and sustainable manner.

The 51st vIWASA is dedicated to the current state of scientific knowledge on climate change and questions how the world's climate will evolve in the coming decades and what effects can be expected especially, in the field of hydrology.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 51st vIWASA will take place as an online seminar for the first time. The health and safety of all participants have the highest priority.

Participation in the event is free of charge.
